Resolved Question: Gender Reassignment?

My husband and I are both 23 years old and we just purchased a home. We have been under pressure from our Insurance Agent and our Mortgage broker to obtain Life Insurance in case something happens to one of us.

We would like to have coverage in case something happens. We are pretty much clueless when it comes to Insurance policies. I ALREADY LOOKED UP THE INFO ON WIKIPEDIA, SO PLEASE DON'T GIVE ME MORE OF THAT. I want opinions on what the best kind of Life Insurance is for us. GIVE ME DETAILS OF POLICIES AND WHAT THEY MEAN. WHAT CAN I DO WITH THEM? HOW DO THEY WORK? HOW DO WE BENEFIT? PROS & CONS? PRICES?

I KNOW NOTHING! HELP!

Term (but if it is a 30 year term, does that mean when we are for example 54 and something happens after the 30 years, we aren't covered?) or Permanant (whole life). We didn't like the decreasing term policy our agent showed us. We have gotten 2 quotes for Term Life, BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND INSURANCE!

Help us make an informed decision!!! Please!

Resolved Question: I'm looking in to insurance, when is whole life a good idea. I can't find one.?

I want to get life insurance and after getting quote from an agent I looked into it. I found that I would get more coverage with term for a better price. I kind of understand the savings portion but wouldn't it make more sense to get a term policy and put the rest in a etf or mutual fund, that way it's my money and the insurance company can't keep it if I would happen to pass. I am going to go with the term but is there any reason to go with the whole life. I'm 24 with wife and 3yr old. Also, why would the agent not tell me about term insurance, it seems like a better deal if you ask me.

Resolved Question: Gender Reassignment?

I'm watching Dr. Phil right now and it's about a girl who has lived her whole life feeling like a boy inside. She wants to have gender reassignment surgery to allow her outsides to match her insides. Also on The L Word, Moira transitions to Max... anyway, my point is that there are people out there who are really born feeling they are in the wrong body! Just like people are born gay... And I do believe that happens. More and more, gender identity is being brought into public debate. Should medical insurance cover the cost of gender reassignment? and with what pre-requisites? In my opinion it should. Our country is founded on the 'pursuit of happiness' does that quote apply here? I am interested to see what everybody thinks...
